Credit Repair Services and Information Midwest Flooding - Financial Information for Victims There is help for victims of the wild weather that has impacted so many Americans in 2008. Individuals and businesses impacted by the 2008 flooding across the Midwest face enormous challenges in terms of housing, employment, and keeping up with financial responsibilities. Businesses, banking, and mortgages have all been greatly affected. Government, business, and non profit groups are rising to this challenges that so
many people currently face. Financial aid for individuals and businesses, along
with suspended mortgage payments, loan assistance, and other methods can all
assist in helping the flood victims and communities affected get back on their
feet. The FTC (June 2008) reports that 64,604 disaster victims In Iowa, Indiana, Wisconsin, Illinois and Missouri have registered for assistance. FEMA has already approved the distribution of $181.6 million for housing assistance and other disaster-related needs. In addition, The National Flood Insurance Program has already paid nearly $4.5 million in claims, and the Small Business Administration has already approved $28.1 million in loans. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has provided $4 million in Disaster Food Stamp Program benefits and supplements 12,000 households in Indiana, Iowa, Nebraska and Wisconsin.
